1885 - Students at Lehigh University sign a petition for a chapter of Phi Gamma Delta; two months later they become Beta Chi Chapter.
1954 - Frederick C. Robbins (Missouri 1936) is awarded the Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine jointly with two others.
1968 - Dr. Luis W. Alvarez (Chicago 1932) wins the Nobel Prize for Physics.
1972 - Joint meeting of Archons and Trustees concludes in Lexington, Kentucky after decision is finalized to relocate the Headquarters from Washington, DC to Lexington.
2001 - Delta Colony established at the University of Toledo.
